The SRM Community Fund was established in 2020, by the family-owned, Somerset-based Aggregate Recycling Contractors, SRM Carver and Son . The mission of the Fund is to identify and recognize unmet needs in the community, and to provide necessary financial support to deserving non-profit organizations in order to help the local community thrive.
The Fund raises money through a percentage of revenue from SRM's contracts, as well as through various enjoyable events throughout the year. These events have ranged from children's fun days and unique wine tasting events, to dinner dances for the whole community. All of the proceeds from these events go directly to the Fund's deserving beneficiary of the year, which for 2020 is Citizens Advice Mendip.
Citizens Advice Mendip is a vital local charity that provides free, confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person to those in need. They are powered by an inspiring team of independent volunteers, who work in almost every aspect of the organisation from admin and advising, to campaigning and research.
At SRM, we believe that it is important to be intentional about where our money is spent, and to ensure that it is used to enrich our community and create long-term change.
